Tech Round-up for 4/23/2013

by on April 23, 2013

A few news items that caught our attention today:

Rough Day – or at least it appeared to be.

CRN reported that, 6 months after its release, VARs say training requirements, or just perceived training requirements, are killing sales of Windows 8.

On InfoWorld, the cloud is seen as killing traditional hardware and software. But slowly. Traditional technology providers are expected to start hurting in 2016.

Verizon’s annual data breach investigations report, compiled by its RISK team, various CERTs, and law enforcement agencies, shows 1 in 5 data breaches are the result of cyber espionage and 95% of those originate in China.

And the markets dropped a percentage point, then quickly recovered, when false reports of a White House bombing appeared after AP’s Twitter account was hacked.
