Tech Round-up for 7/1/13

Here are some of the technology stories that caught our eye today:

The Washington Post released more slides from the NSA’s PRISM program, revealing more details on the data the NSA collects, the process behind the data collection, and also revealed that the NSA had over 117 thousand active surveillance targets in its counterterrorism database as of April of this year.

Symantec released Data Loss Prevention 12, targeted at companies who want to protect data on the inside. New features include mobile email monitoring for iOS, user risk summaries, and analyzing files for confidential information.

Riverbed’s Michele Hayes, senior director of Global Channel Programs and Strategy, was recognized by CRN as one of the top Women of the Channel. The list recognizes nearly 300 female executives from vendor channels, distributors, and solution providers for their impact and accomplishments.

Citrix ByteMobile’s T3100 Adaptive Traffic Manager won the 2013 LTE Award for Best LTE Traffic Management Product from Informa and telecoms.com. The awards recognize innovations in the telecommunications industry.
